Finding Weight Loss Tips that Work
Nothing inspires perfect apathy like starting a diet. That’s why they rarely work.
Please don’t misunderstand – I’m not asserting that there aren’t any meal plans in existence that will help you to reduce your body weight, and maybe even reduce your fat percentage. There are plenty. But statistics demonstrate convincingly that unless you’re in a depressingly small category of people, as soon as you reach your weight loss diet objective, you’re most likely going to gain all your weight back, and then some.
So the fat reduction problem isn’t about finding weight loss tips that work. Those are available in thousands of books, videos, recordings, infomercials, etc. Rather, the challenge is changing the way you think about your diet, your weight loss objectives, and your entire lifestyle.
Here’s the kicker: you can’t think of the change in your lifestyle habits as a diet. The word “diet” tends to mean a short-term period of suffering, self-sacrifice and self control that takes colossal willpower and an iron-clad constitution. It’s beyond difficult. You probably won’t come close to reaching your fat loss goals that way, and if you do, you’re most likely not going to keep the excess fat at bay for long.
Instead, you need to reconcile yourself to the idea that you’re about to set off on a significant lifestyle change. If you want to carry around less body fat, you’re going to have to do things a bit differently than you did while you were packing on the fat. That includes clean eating – another way of saying you should eat fat burning foods instead of fat-adding foods. That also means getting up and moving around (yes, the dirty “e” word – exercise) instead of spending your days tied to a chair.
In order for your new lifestyle to work over the long haul, and in order for you to lose weight quickly and permanently, you’re going to have to make certain of two important things. First, you have to enjoy the foods you eat. Fortunately, healthy foods are absolutely delicious, so after your initial adjustment period, this part is easy. Second, you’re going to have to really enjoy what you’re doing for exercise. If you enjoy your food and you like your exercise, you will succeed at losing weight and keeping it off.
